Description

Solid wood flooring is manufactured from individual hardwood boards, milled from a single piece of timber. Its strength, longevity and ease of maintenance make it a durable flooring option that can perform for 50 years or more when properly cared for, offering long-term value in a wide range of projects.

Solid hardwood floors are appreciated for their natural richness and visual appeal. Different wood species provide distinct aesthetic characteristics: woods such as maple, oak and cherry offer more uniform colours and grain patterns, while species like red oak and hickory present stronger grain definition and greater colour variation. Exotic hardwoods stand out for their rich tones, striking appearance and high hardness ratings.

Due to its natural behaviour, solid wood is sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature, which can cause expansion or contraction. For this reason, it is not recommended for moisture-prone areas such as subfloors or full bathrooms. In environments with higher humidity levels, engineered wood flooring is often the preferred alternative, as its cross-layer construction provides enhanced stability.
